Title of position

Dor Hemshech Coordinator with the Hungarian Zionist Federation

Areas of responsibility

Development and consolidation of framework and activity for Dor Hemshech (young Jewish adults) in Hungary .

The intern will work in coordination with the HZF, and in the context of a range of related Next Generation Zionist programs in Hungary, as well as: Israel Connect Europe, IKI, the Jewish Agency for Israel, WUJS, MASA, Taglit (alumni), and those of other relevant organizations.

Project(s) of choice will be developed in conjunction with HZF and the Department, and will include regular and special activities that relate to the goals of the Department for Diaspora Activities, WZO, and the goals and needs of the HZF and its constituency.

The point person will report directly to the Department for Diaspora Activities and work under the supervision of the HZF and the Department, in conjunction with the Jewish Agency Shaliach in Hungary.

Candidate profile [Required qualifications, desired experience, areas of knowledge, competence, reporting and languages]

Graduate in the required age range, with educational and field work experience;

Proven skills in developing and building process and content for educational and outreach programming, also Hasbara programming;

Sound Israel and Jewish knowledge, ability to grow knowledge – preference for post-MASA candidates;

Proven experience working with young adults and  with Jewish organizations;

Proven organizational, coordination and communication skills, ability to work alone and lead or be part of a team; online networking competence;

Proven inter-organizational skills;

Administration: project planning, financial and reporting skills - communication required in English or Hebrew.

Job Description (to be selected from the following):

Activities and events for Dor Hemshech and young people in the Jewish community to promote the goals of Aliyah, develop leadership, Zionist & Jewish identity,  Zionism, connection to Israel, as well as to meet Hasbara needs;

Cooperative programming with other organizations and movements;

Organizing activities in relation to specific dates on the Zionist Calendar;

Regular activity programming by design that offers focused Israel knowledge (culture, society, history…);

Resource development;

Networking and recruitment of young adults for these and other Zionist programmes; The successful candidate will be able to represent the Department WZO and transmit its message.
